Christmas recital
Dress rehearsal -December 12 th at 11:00pm to 1:30 pm - at the Community Center (ALL DANCERS MUST ATTEND DRESS REHEARSAL). Please come in costume and make-up.

I will be going over make-up, hair, tights, shoes ect. on the 1st week of December. So parents PLEASE try to attend this class. If you are unable to attend I will send a form home w/ each child.

Christmas Party
Following dress rehearsal we will be having our 1st EDC Christmas party, also to be held at the community center. I am asking all kids (including siblings if they want to participate) to please bring a wrapped gift of $10.00 or under for gift exchange. The gift should be appropriate to your child's age.  Please list age range on tag on outside of the gift.

The kids will enjoy dancing, games, prizes and pictures with Santa. Please everyone attend. There will be a sign up sheet to bring food items.

Costumes
All costumes are due to arrive by December 12.  If your child's class has not received their costumes by the date of dress rehearsal, see Dana at dress rehearsal to get the costume.

Recital December 19th at 6:00 pm.
Recital will be at Graham Kapowsin High School at 6:00 pm.  Please arrive by 5:30. Originally it was going to be at our new high school; unfortunately it is very popular this year and booked months in advance. We will try for our summer recital to be held there.

Admission
In the past we have had our Christmas program at the high school in Eatonville and we have taken donations at the door and given proceeds to charity, as the old high school donated the use of the theater since it was for charity. However, GK charges for school rental, janitors, light technician, etc., and it is quite expensive. Therefore, admission will have to be charged. Any money over the amount it costs for the school, decorations, etc., will be donated to charity. You are also welcome to bring nonperishable food items or donate extra money to the charity.

The charity this year will be the Tree House at Mary Bridge.  It is a place where families can stay who have children hospitalized at Mary Bridge.  If a family can afford it, they charge $20 a night to stay, but no family is turned away if they can't afford to pay.  It also has a large community kitchen for families to use and all food donated to the Tree House is free for all who stay.  It is run solely on donations.

Admission
Kids 3 and under free.
Children 4 to 10 and seniors 62 and over $5.00
Adults $7.00.
Dancers and backstage helpers are FREE.

December classes
Christmas break- December 21nd –Classes restart January 3rd. Tuition is not prorated for the month of December as I do not charge extra for the months that have more then 4 weeks.

Happy Thanksgiving!

January Season
Hopefully all of the dancers will be returning to classes after the New Year. If your child does not want to continue please let me know ASAP to allow room for other dancers to get into classes.

When we return to classes in January I will have the summer recital songs picked out and have 3 costume options for the dancers and parents to vote on which outfit they like best. The summer recital theme this year will be Accessories theme, Dancing Divas theme or From Books to Movies theme. After voting on the costumes, we will need payment the following week. This is extremely important due to in the past when we have ordered costumes later than January we barley get them before our show date. We will not order costumes unless payment has been received in advance and in some cases class costumes cannot be ordered unless all are ordered at the same time.

I realize that money is tight right now for most people and especially right after Christmas so it is a good idea to start saving now, especially if your child is in more then 2 classes or you have more than 1 child dancing. Costumes will cost between $40.00 and $70.00 for each class.

Remember
If you are ever unsure of any dates please visit the website. There you will find information on all upcoming dates on our Calendar of Events at www.eatonvilledancecenter.com.  Newsletters are also posted on the website.

PRACTICE
Recital is only 5 weeks away so to make it a great show please make sure your child is practicing at home. I can email you their song or please feel free to come video their dance so that they can practice it at home. Practice makes perfect.
